I was recently asked by the lovely people from Rainbow Book Box if I’d like to receive a sample box of their upcoming bookish subscription service. Rainbow Book Box is a new YA subscription, specialising in diverse books. Meaning each month their box will contain a new YA release, written by BAME, LGBTQAIP+ and disabled authors. The moment I heard that this was book box focusing on diverse books and authors, I couldn’t have been more excited. I jumped at the chance to receive one, as it’s not something I’ve seen many bookish subscription services focus on. It was so refreshing to find a company actively searching for diverse books and authors to support. With that being said, let’s get on into the box because it was pretty fab…Read More
We all know autumn is a pretty fab time for YA book releases, so much so that a lot of us will be either A) totally broke right now or B) slightly overwhelmed with which books to pick up first. Unfortunately, I can’t help with option A. (Believe me, I would if I could but I’m in the same boat, feeling your pain right now. *cries into empty purse*) Luckily however, I can somewhat help with option B. Hence today’s quiz, making the hard decision for you. All you need to do is pick your favourite thing about autumn, whether that be snuggly movie night in, or breathing in the autumnal air, you’ll get a 2017 September-November release recommended to you.
(Equally, you could just go through all eight options and once again overwhelm yourself with great sounding books once again…)
I have this odd vendetta against spring as a season, I’m not sure quite sure what it is exactly (<- this is entirely untrue. I 100% know why but whenever I’ve explain it to people, for some reason, they seem to think it’s more than bizarre. So in an attempt to keep whatever reputation I may have here, I’m just going to swiftly brush past that explanation…) But, if there’s one thing I do love above almost all things, it’s puppies. Coincidently enough, I also love books *shock horror*… Therefore combining the two, whilst also giving spring a little attention, seemed fair enough. So today I’m recommending some new releases coming this spring that I think sound fabulous, through the power of puppies. Enjoy! Read More
I recently posted a video to my YouTube channel with 101 books that are being released in 2017 that I think sound pretty great! Since I couldn’t add any links or much description to that video, as apparently 101 book titles and links is far too much for the YouTube description box to handle… I thought I would make a blog post with them too with their links and also showing which books are diverse and/or #OwnVoices! Most of these are YA books, although there are a few Middle-Grade as well! Making this list was so much fun, despite it taking quite a long time to put together!
September is exciting for a number or reasons, Autumn will finally be upon us, Once Upon A Time is returning, the Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children movie is coming out, it’s my birthday, (did I already mention Once Upon A Time is returning?…) but most importantly, some utterly wonderful sounding books are being released and here are a few I am most highly anticipating… Read More
June’s pretty great. School’s coming to an end, the sun is finally beginning to show it’s face but possibly the best thing is, of course, the fantastic new books being released!! So, today I thought I would share some of my most highly anticipated releases for June 2016.
America’s most famous pop star flees the spotlight to recover from her latest break-up in Maine – only to fall for a local boy and be faced with an impossible choice at the end of the summer: her new guy, or her music.
Multiplatinum pop icon Lily Ross’s biggest hits and biggest heartbreaks (because they are one and the same):
1. AGONY. (That feeling when her ex ripped her heart out of her chest and she never saw it coming.)
2. GHOSTS. (Because even famous people are ghosted by guys sometimes. And it sucks just as much.)
3. ONCE BITTEN. (As in: twice shy. Also, she’s never dating an actor or a musician ever again.)Read More
